"Just wanted to let you know that I looked at the sample poems from your Going To The Well, and they are very fine! I like the evocation of "ordinary" things you see around here(blackberries, dogs, roads, springboard notches), and the way you somehow make them "extraordinary," perhaps symbolic and universal? Anyway, great work, and keep it up!" - Richard Arnold

"Congratulations, David. I've been to the site and the book cover looks wonderful. And what a great list of poets and their poems. Well done!" - Trish Shields

"I was fortunate enough to see one of my short stories published by Canadian online magazine Ascent Aspirations. David Fraser is that rare breed of editor that not only prefers the work of new writers, but also doesn't mind a story with a bit of an edge. Thanks a lot David, I appreciate it. When you published my story that really gave me the boost I needed to encourage me to get going with my writing and as a result I have almost finished writing my first novel. Ascent is a much needed magazine in Canada!" - Jason Baker

"Thank you for carrying my poems in your May 2006, May 2007, and November 2007 issues of Ascent Aspirations Magazine. I appreciate your hard work as the editor not only in the selection of poetry, but also in the compilation and publication of this poetry. I wish you and your magazine a happy and prosperous new year!" - Suzanne Harvey

"Congratulations on the launching your second book of poetry. So pleased you are "covering" the Island with copies. Is a third book in the works? You're setting a great example. Looking forward to Anthology #5; regret not responding in time to be considered. Also appreciate Newslatter very much." - Florence McKie

It was such a pleasure for me to go back in the Archives and find at least four of what I consider my best poems (I'm a little doubtful about the Armadillos). Without my really being aware of it, Ascent Aspirations has become the only publication or anthology I care to send my work to. I can always be sure that if a poem has sufficient merit it will find a place in Ascent. In addition, the caliber of the poets with whom I share the pages of Ascent show me I am in excellent company. My only regret is that I cannot appear at a reading sponsored by Ascent and inflict the poems you rejected on the public. Thank you for the years of growth and support we have shared as editor and poet. - Cariños, Sue Littleton

"It's great to see that ASCENT is doing such a wonderful job for writers/poets by giving them an excellent platform. Keep it up." and "It's so kind of you to keep sending such wonderful reading material thru ASCENT. I am savoring it in small doses, to enjoy it more. You are doing a great job for sure.More when I get through the current issue." - Best regards, Raj Sharma

I admire you for inspiring and connecting writers. I am sure you have made a difference to a number of people -- you sure have to me." - Cindy Shantz

"I wish I had you as POEMATA Editor lol... you do such a great job David." - Donna Allard, Canadian Poetry Association

"I just wanted to tell you I received the May Aspirations, and I am so proud to be part of it. I have been sitting here over the last hour reading all of the wonderful poets in this issue and writing them notes on their work, the reads are great---some very inspiring work here." - jacob erin-cilberto

"Thank you so much for my copy of the Ascent Anthology, a beautifully produced magazine. You even took the trouble to add a personal note – how very kind! You have gathered together a lot of interesting people. Just think of us all sitting down today and becoming acquainted with one another. It is a really warming thought." - Inge Israel

"I received my copy of Ascent Aspirations Anthology One on Friday. What a delight to have it just before Christmas! I could escape from all the bustle of preparing The Feast for the Clan, and hide away for a bit to read. I think it is a brilliant collection of poetry. I am a poetry maniac, own and have read hundreds of journals and poetry anthologies, and I can honestly say I've been inspired to read only a few from cover to cover. This was definitely one of those, from the stunning cover to the Acknowledgements page. What a feeling to see my work presented with such fine poets." - Becky Alexander, Craigleigh Press

"This is to thank you for all the work you must have put in to produce such a very attractive publication. I have another reason to thank you. A couple of months ago, after you had published my poem 'Three Sisters' online, an American poet (Richard Moore) sent me an email and, subsequently a copy of his latest collection, because he liked the poem so much. Since then, he has agreed to write an introduction to my forthcoming collection, I am Janus. So, on two counts, many thanks!" - Peter Austin

"I received the two print editions of Anthology One. My brother, Mark Lavorato has two of his poems featured in this anthology. I wanted to thank you for your support of all these talented writers who make our world better with their words. Also, thank you for filling my order so quickly, my parents will enjoy receiving this book as a Christmas present." - Gina Gurney

"The poem looks great and I really like the way you linked up to the other e-zines that feature my poetry. Good job!" - Jill Williams
