Astral Projection

Your silhouette is forever burned
onto the inside of my eyelids.
I study your face from across the room,
across the Universe,
so that your flawless features
are branded on my soul.
Your sizzling stare
burns hunger into my heart.
The mist that is my essence
drifts across the floor,
pressing its moist ghost-mouth to yours.
Tasting your curiosity,
smelling your arousal,
feeling your quivering,
knowing your longing,
I ease back into my body;
into consciousness.
Your eyes, still staring,
tell of a knowing,
a secret,
that says I reached you.

Doctor To Me

This is a test.
DO adjust your set.
Your mindset that is,
As we’re taking your breast.
You may experience
Some difficulty lifting Heavy objects,
such as the information
You are about to receive.

Me To Myself

I’m sorry.
The depth of despair
you are trying to reach
Is not in service. Please hang up
Your self-pity,
And try your Life again.

Haiku Quartet

Lazy afternoon
drifting in and out of sleep
wrapped up in your smile

Navy blue plaid sheets
tangled mass of skin and cloth
arms and legs entwined

Shall I tell you now
of desire moist as dew
on my morning grass?

Rest your tired head
other days will come and go
better for the wait

Karen Godson. is a 38 year old Lesbian mother of two, living in Toronto.   Having survived breast cancer and a radical mastectomy in 1997, she is now living life to its fullest.  Her dream now is to have her poetry published, and to make a difference in the lives of other womyn.

She has been writing poetry since she was twelve years old.  In her later teens, she started using the freedom of the pen to really express her love for womyn.  As she became more accepting and embracing of her sexuality,  her poetry became more free-flowing, and more alive with emotions, smells, colors, even sounds.   Recently, she put together a collection of her best work, entitled "Inspired Woman".  It is approximately 5000 words, and contains over 50 poems about love, loss, and life as a lesbian.  She would be very excited to see “Inspired Woman” on the shelves where it can help to uplift and inspire womyn everywhere.

Karen lives blissfully with her beautiful life-partner, and their big, goofy rottweiler, Bravo.  She is a vegetarian chef but writing consumes her time outside the kitchen.  Through poetry, she embraces all the womyn who have ever dreamed, hoped, loved and achieved.
