Under the blossoms
petals fall upon your face

Angelika Kolompar came to Canada with her Danish Mother and Hungarian Father. She has been published in North America, Eruope and Japan. The first major award was from Japan. Her first passion is haiku, but now tanka is her next pursuit. Her first book, Vancouver Island, Haiku and Tanka was published in 2006. The plan is to revise it soon. She draws her inspiration from beautiful Vancouver Island, where she lives with the sea and sky a glance away from her windows. Her love of the ocean is also seen in her dragon boat activity. Grey sea and sky
she dreams of
blue irises

It is one of her favourites and won a European award . It is a very personal one and was written on a grey laden day thinking about a man she loved who died tragically many years ago who had eyes like the wild blue iris!
