Death-Ink
“I cancelled out the lines that most let on I loved you.”
-- Liz Lochhead

And when I was finished
my hands were exhausted.
And my eyes were shattered.
Because they found only a silent blinding
blackness remained.
I had edited myself
to nothing.
Which was accurate.
But unforgiving
in the cruel light
of understanding.
So you turned that off too.
Leaving me no direction.
No sign
of escape.
It’s no use anyway.
I just seem to blend.
With the encompassing uselessness
of the night.
