In Search of Quiet?
We hikers who despise
dirt-bikers on their highs
step quickly off the trail,
our faces drained quite pale,
and clap both hands to ears —
muttering voiceless jeers.
As each of them roars by
I wonder with a sigh
what Inner Eye’s behind
the visored helmet lined
against a startling crash
into an oak or ash.

IN VITRO: NEW SHORT RHYMING POEMS POST-9/11
What they're saying: "Formal Poems by a talented poet.... strangely compelling....
At his best, Jamieson resembles a modern-day G.M. Hopkins, frequently using end-rhyme
in the subtlest ways and letting the natural rhythm of language...move readers smoothly
from line to line. This is evidenced in the beautifully complex sonnet 'Calling Me Home'...."
