Spiritually Symphonic
Wield the true voo-doo. Dance
outside a Brooklyn mosque.
All of us are born from sparrows;
a string of dreams, each one.
In twisted alleys
Ganesh is kept in your front pocket.
Stay close to the soil.
Grow firmly in the rocks and fallen leaves.
Supernal watchmen
are wishing we would notice
their vigilance.
Let's seek them out
and sing Redemption Song.
Just us,
playing dice with angels.
Fate of a Dream Keeper
At twenty-two
I stumbled upon a wistful fairy,
wilting in the sun.
Her sapphires, her pearls, her laughter
worn out and come undone.
"That's it! That does it!"
She twisted up her face,
"My heart has turned to ash,
and I loathe this awful place!"
"The world doesn't care.
Wishes just stopped wishing.
Children have grown dull and fat,
while wild boys all went missing."
I understood completely,
I knew her heavy plight.
All the youth were locked inside,
fancy long taken flight.
A shame, her velvet dress
was shaken free of magic.
Such a mess from so much sorrow,
her little sobs were tragic.
I held her to my heart,
wrapped her in my palm.
I whispered to the precious orphan,
"Hush now, dear. Be calm."
Then I strangled her, saved her,
she never resisted death.
She welcomed it, she acquiesced
stardust pulled her last breath.
The fairy, her luminescence,
is safe within a locket.
She's with my car keys
buried in my pocket.
