It's an illusion,
It's a new way,
It's the dawn,
It's the dusk.
It's freed energy flowing through my body.
It's the love liberation showcasing all my flaws, beauty marks, and skin.
It's you,
It's me.
Its ordinary, it's bizarre,
All in one.
It's me wanting to be with my Momma, head on her shoulder,
It me loving unlimited in each moment.
It's all around us.
It's itchy,
It's cool,
It's bottoms up, heads down.
It's climbing the stairs,
It's calling the police,
It's gone for now,
It's here.
It's a memory those left behind.
It's between my lashes,
It's the remnants of your tomorrow.
It's dust,
Snow,
Love, and feet standing wide,
determined to flush out any weaknesses
between them and another.
It's a cat's last goodbye.
It's an affair long awaited.
It's dewdrops,
Penny wars,
milkshake madness,
it's you,
it's me,
it's the sky,
the rain,
the ethers.
It's an absence I'll never forget.
Gaia Standing has worked steadily for three years on a speculative science
fiction novel taking place in New York City. It is currently being reviewed, and assigned
to a literary agent and publisher.
gaia had another article published by Ascent Aspirations in 2006,
called 'Written,' about following ones wild and romantic dreams on a wave
that splashes and transforms into yet another configuration of a dream we
hadn't realized or seen within ourselves before.
Gaia lives in Vancouver, Canada, after living in NYC, LA, Santa Barbara, Nelson,
BC, and the Midwest. She was born in Virginia Beach, VA where farmland and beaches
meet harmoniously. She has worked as a Production Assistant in Los Angeles reading
scripts and writing synopsis' on them in 2003-04.
She looks forward to you picking up a copy of her first novel, as she undergos
writing the second.
