The Studio that Beckons to be Called: Home
It took me two missed exits
and three spontaneous detours
For me to return back to you.
The drive could have been
made short. I kept it long.
Trumping up the stairs
one foot after the other.
My black satchel trailing
at my feet among cigarette butts.
I anticipated a note at the door.
There was none.
And you remained the same as you always have.
Subtle and complete with the animate inanimate.
