Today I Saw Someone
I thought of you for the first time since.
I saw a man on the bus this morning
Who reminded me of you you in twenty-five years from now,
Another lifetime when you will look back on today as your
youth.
Wordless through my headphones, his gestures sprung,
His shoulders jigged when he laughed.
Your dimples will become deep attractive grooves.
I wanted to know you when we were old.
I wanted to do things with you:
plant a garden,
sit on a patio drinking
tea.
