child-size jeans

she begs her way
through
waiting
cars

croaks
God
bless you

& gives an awful smile
when the coins arrive

     I                baby sister the
    want               doctor said she
  you              had bad chemicals &
  to                    there was nothing he
  bring                            could do I
      in                    saw her in her little
        pictures                  bed shaking
         of              & shaking & then
          your                       she just
            family             stopped
